Rolled Oat Flakes
Rolled oats are produced by first steaming the grain, then rolling them flat into flakes. Rolled oats are mash ready meaning they are fully gelatinized, and they do not require milling. Oats give beer a fuller body and creamy mouthfeel, making them a popular addition in dark beers or IPAs. Two easy ways to use rolled oats are to use them at a rate of 10% in a Stout for a sweeter, smoother flavour or to use them at a rate of 20% in a NEIPA for a round, luscious body and finish.
